When joining as a member on TNT'S ER fan club, I did not know there are so many people that enjoyed the TV series ER as much as I do. I chose to go through TNT's website because in this particular social network it felt more like a community. When reading what other members write is so amazing and touching to me. People see and feel some of the same things as myself and it always feels good to know your not alone. There is that sense of belonging that every group or community desires.
Exploring different other networks of ER fans, I found that some members don't respond back as often as they could, which made that network lose members. Especially members who weren't interested as much as others were. There are even some networks with some members who spend hours talking about all the seasons that were ever written I guess when you find something you really are interested in, you can talk about that subject for hours. This type of social networking you have to be cautious, it can become addicting.
When talking about ER the time started flying by, and next thing you know kids are home, no dinner cooking, and two hours have now gone by. What just happen, I was so involved in my social network it felt like my community. In class we listed essential components of a community from that list I had engaged myself in every one. It was then I realized that on TNT's social network there was more of a connection that made it feel like I belonged to that ER's virtual community.
